Card Condition Guide

Card Condition Guide

Last updated: 14 October 2025

At Shiny Quest Card, we aim to provide a transparent and accurate guide for how we describe the condition of all single trading cards. Each card is individually checked and graded before being listed to ensure collectors and players know exactly what to expect.

Condition Grades

We follow industry-standard grading terms used by major TCG marketplaces and grading companies.

Condition Description
Mint (M) Pack-fresh condition. No visible wear, whitening, or scratches. Centering within acceptable factory tolerance. Ideal for grading (PSA/BGS 9–10 range).
Near Mint (NM) Excellent condition with very light signs of handling, such as a tiny edge or corner mark visible only under close inspection.
Lightly Played (LP) Minor wear including light surface marks or edge whitening. No creases or bends. Still tournament playable and ideal for casual collectors.
Moderately Played (MP) Noticeable wear such as scratches, whitening, or small dents. Card remains structurally sound and suitable for gameplay.
Heavily Played (HP) Significant wear including creases, surface marks, or edge damage. Not ideal for collectors but still playable unless otherwise stated.
Damaged (DMG) Major defects such as deep creases, ink, tears, or water damage. Cards are sold at a reduced price and are typically not suitable for play or grading.
